The Glenmorangie Distillery presenteerde vanavond hun laatste Private Edition: Glenmorangie Bacalta. Bacalta is Schots Gaelic voor "gebakken" en de eerste Glenmorangie met een finish op Malmsey Madeiravaten. De whisky is geïnspireerd op de Glenmorangie Madeira Finish die Bill Lumsden 20 jaar geleden creëerde.
Glenmorangie Bacalta werd gefinished in zwaar geroosterde vaten van Amerikaanse eik behandeld met Malmseywijn, een zoete Madereiravariant. Daarvoor rijpte de whisky in ex-bourbonvaten. Hoe lang? Dat weten we niet en ze zullen het ons ook niet vertellen.
