Douglas Laing & Co lanceerde deze week de jaarlijkse kersteditie van Big Peat, een cask strength-versie van hun blended Islay malt.
De familiezaak uit Glasgow lanceerde Big Peat Christmas voor de eerste keer in 2011. Sindsdien is de iconische visser een internationale bekendheid geworden met een rits aan exclusieve bottelingen voor sommige landen, beperkte edities op leeftijd en aparte caskfinishes. De cult rond zijn persoontje neemt hij er maar al te graag bij.
Editie nummer 10 beeldt Pig Peat af in zijn kerstoutfit, terwijl hij in een kerstbal staart. Zoals de traditie het wil, wordt de whisk gebotteld op vatsterkte (53.1% alcohol), zonder kleurstoffen of koude filtratie.
This 10th annual festive bottling, depicts Big Peat sporting a Santa Claus hat reflected in a bauble nestled deep within the Christmas tree. As is tradition for the Christmas Edition, “he” is bottled at cask strength (53.1% ABV) and without artificial colouring or chill-filtration.
