Bowmore Vault Edit1°n First Release

Another day, another discovery in the TTB Public Registry. This time it's a cask strength NAS whisky from Bowmore called Bowmore Vault Edition First Release. The name refers to the legendary N°1 vaults, a Bowmore warehouse below sea level. The first release seems to bare a descriptive nickname (a bit like those Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottlings): Atlantic Sea Salt, uncovering the different layers created by the alchemy of the No.1 Vaults.

Label Description

Discover the flavours of sun-ripened fruits, salted honeycomb, zingy spiced cocoa and iodine-soaked blood orange, all bathed in Atlantic sea spray. Awash with blackberry, sea salt and kumquat, the lasting finish opens out like the vast ocean itself.

Entries from the TTB Public Registry  (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau) are  a fairly reliable source for upcoming new whiskies. Although not all entries make it to the market. There's always the possibility a brand decides not to launch a whisky, even if the label has been approved.  Until the distillery sends out a press release, this whisky should be considered a rumour...
